FullSizeRender 10The Leaky Tap Mosman Park

Coffee Type: A Large Energetic Cappuccino

Location: 43 Victoria St, Mosman Park WA 6012

Coffee in one word or more: Energetic!!!

Atmosphere: So, yes. I watched Australian Ninja Warrior and this is how I stumbled across this epic little cafe. That and I was telling a mate about my intentions to visit this place and he just looked at me like we had had this discussion before. Turns out we had, as this is the coffee store around the corner from his place that we were going to get a brew from on the weekend. So I guess we had had that conversation before…not sure I was 100% present though. Anywho, this place made me laugh as soon as I stepped inside. The leaky tap theme is strong here. And they possibly have the best and most OHS compliant coffee shop uniform I have ever seen. You can’t help but feel happy here.

Service: So So So very impressive. These guys made me smile from the time I stepped through the door. It is such a cosy and fun setting. On top of that the crew that work here are so engaging they make you feel like your part of the crew. These guys embody the essence of coffee experience for me. I would happily get a coffee here every day just for the experience associated with it.

Roast / Bean: Sorry I was so distracted by the coffee plumbing theme.

Cost: Standard Rims for Perth!!!

Reward schemes:  ???

☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️  I really enjoy going here. The experience of awesomeness is one that is hard to put into words. You guys rock!!!

Although for those that know me you know thats probably not much of a strain on their half. Did I mention they are an award winning bakery

Service: I can’t explain how much I like pooping in here. These guys keep us sain when we are in town. They are the best escape around with amazing coffee and treats. It is an adventure every time we go there.

Brickfields Chippendale

Coffee Type: A long black with one.

Location: 206 Cleveland Street, Chippendale.

Coffee in one word: Pleasant

Atmosphere: With a name like Brickfields and my notable obsession with lego, how could I not visit a cafe with a name like Brickfields. While the cafe has nothing to do with lego it is still an awesome little local secret. It is a bakery as well as a cafe so you can just imagine how amazing it smells when you step inside. They have an excellent layout which lets you see right into the bakery to whats going on, so your curious side can be appeased. You can even sit on the park benches outside the cafe and they will serve your coffee there, which I think is very unique and cool. On the wall when you walk in is a cool feature wall of tiles that they have incorporated into the design of the takeaway coffee cups which is a very unique technique.

Service: So they have one of the coolest serving techniques I have come across. I a a bit of a tech geek and as such love gadgets and the like. As soon as you walk in you are served by a friendly staff member with a iPad who takes your order and your money so you don’t have to line up at the counter. They are very friendly here and the staff combination make for a very funky vibe. This was the first time I had been to this cafe but thanks largely to the staff I will become more of a regular here.

Roast / Bean: In house blend.

Cost: Good price for the area.

Reward schemes: Nil

☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ This will become one of my regular coffee haunts. Thats how much of an initial impression it had on me.

The place has a cool layout and awesome interior design. It has the ability to be wide open and airy in the summer or such down for warmth in the winter. It is a very bright and vibrant place to watch the world cruise on by. The coffee is nothing short of exceptional here.

Service: Wow…they are fast here. They may even own barristaring records for all I know. What I do know is they are always friendly and somehow have the largest smiles on their faces. They set a very high standard of friendliness which always amazes me considering how busy they are

Qantas In Flight Coffee

Qantas In Flight Coffee

Qantas In Flight Coffee

Coffee Type: Brewed coffee.

Location: Boeing 737-800 Cruising at 33000ft

Coffee in one word: Mysterious
Atmosphere: I feel like a captured audience up here. They have a way of making you feel like you’re in your own world. Kind of like your own 2ft x 2.5ft place of solitude. I have to admit the crew are very friendly and courteous up here. They tend to your needs quite quickly and always make sure you have somewhere to sit, all be it they do make you strap into your seat. Now the view can’t be faulted. They go to quite the effort to make sure the view is constantly changing and that there is always something interesting to see.

Service: The crew are very friendly, fast and polite. Sometimes it can be a little bit bumpy, but lets face it when you are fighting gravity that can be a natural side effect.

Roast / Bean: Qantas In house blend..I believe

Cost: Two ways to look at this. Its either great pricing because its free with your airfare or the most expensive coffee I have purchase at a couple of hundred dollars that you have to drink while going somewhere.

Reward schemes: Qantas Frequent Flyers.

☕️☕️☕️☕️ I do have a soft spot for Qantas coffee and it is always delivered with a smile.

Newtown Specialty Coffee Cafe

Newtown Coffee Specialist

Newtown Specialty Coffee Cafe

Coffee Type: A soy latte.

Location: 180 Brunswick Street Fitzroy, Victoria

Coffee in one word: Delicious
Atmosphere: This is the first in a series of Melbournian coffee reviews from a quick and highly caffeinated visit to our southern neighbours. I stumbled across this place when cruising down Brunswick street. It had all the key indicators of a great coffee shop and it didn’t fail to deliver. The feel of this place is cool even by Melbourne high standards for cafes. It has one of my favourite traits of a good cafe with a lovely bench at the front to watch the world go by while you enjoy some amazing coffee. They have a really cool wooden log wall which is another one of the thing that cemented my opinion as to why this cafe was so great was, Also they had lego strategically cancelled in the walls for those who look hard enough.

Service: The staff were genuinely friendly and they run an amazing coffee oasis.

Roast / Bean: In house blend…really good by the way.

Cost: Good pricing in a very cafe dominated area.

Reward schemes: Nil.

☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️ This will be part of my Melbourne staple coffee diet anytime I am in town. Cool place made even better by the friendly staff.

Clipper Cafe Glebe

Clipper Cafe Glebe

Location: 16 Glebe Point Road, Glebe.

Coffee in one word: Smooth

Atmosphere: I have been meaning to try this place for a while as overtime I cruise past it looks very inviting. It didn’t fail to deliver on appearances. It is a very funky designed cafe with some old school racers hanging on the wall which match the setting perfectly. This place was full of vibrant noise and energy. You feel great from the time you step in the door till the time you leave. They also have some cool high table and chairs outside for the perfect people watching perch if you like watching the world go by. It is also a very peaceful place to sit back, relax and read an amazing book like Redback One: The True Story of An Australian SAS Hero.

Service: The staff were extremely friendly and engaging. The coffee was amazing and was made exceptionally fast.

Roast / Bean: Grinders (I believe).

Cost: Best pricing I have found on Glebe Point Road.
